We visited the lavender fields in mid-August. By then, the fields were not as purple as it would have been if the lavender was in full bloom. The fields still looked beautiful and there was plenty of lavender available for picking. However, the sunflower field was sadly, completely bare. I would definitely recommend visiting the farm earlier in the season, if possible.
Entrance fee: £5 per adult, £1 per child aged between 5 – 14.
*The entrance fee entitles you to pick the lavender, wild flowers and sunflowers (sunflowers cost 50p a stem).
Getting there from London: Take a train from King’s Cross to Hitchin Station, then catch a taxi or Uber to the lavender fields.
